Pauline E. (Hobart) Swann, 93, Chesterfield, passed away January 23, 2017 at Miller's Merry Manor, Chesterfield.

She was born on June 3, 1923 in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of the late Carl and Eugeine Hobart.

Pauline served in various community organizations throughout her life. She was president of the Chesterfield Elementary School P.T.A., den mother of Boy Scouts Troop 214, Room mother president of the Chesterfield Mother's Club. She was also member of the Chesterfield Optimists Club and the Union Township Recreation and Park Board, and served on the Board of Directors of the Millcreek Civic Center. Pauline was the director of the Chesterfield Boys Club.

She was also president of the Chesterfield Democrat Club, was a member of the Women's Democrat Club of Madison County, Democrat Chairman of Union Township and a charter member of the Roosevelt-Kennedy Club of Madison County.

Pauline also was a member of the Ladies Shrine Club of Madison County, former Secretary-Treasurer of Camp Chesterfield and President of Phi Beta Sorority. She was chairman of historical records of Chesterfield, worked at the Madison County Government Center for 19 years and was a precinct committee person for over 60 years. She attended Chesterfield Christian Church.

Pauline is survived by her sons, Paul Lee Swann and Larry Clay Swann; grandchildren, Leanne Walters and Magnolia Swann; great-grandchildren, Cody Swann, Cheyenne Rogers, Tyler Walters, Shelby Lynn and Mariah Swann; and great-great-grandchildren, Novalee, Zaiyne and Everlee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Swann; sister, Frances Ferels; brother, Carl Hobart; daughter-in-law, Lynn (Cook) Swann; and granddaughter, Jessica (Swann) Smith.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Ned Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Bronnenberg Cemetery, Chesterfiled.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until time of services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Chesterfield Christian Church.
