Tribute & Message From The Family
Marilynn Lorena Meyer, 80, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
She was born September 4, 1941, in Pike County to the late Arthur C. & Christine (Mann) Fuhrman. She graduated from Otwell High School, Otwell, IN, Class of 1959. She graduated from Patricia Stevens Finishing School in Chicago. She married the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Meyer on June 1, 1960.
Marilynn had worked at The Fair Store, L.S. Ayres, Kohl's, and Needles Three Craft Store. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church for 61 years where she sang in the choir, was a past council member & Mary Circle president, and served on the kitchen committee. She was also active in many clubs including, Holy Hookers, Onward & Upward Home Extension Club, Heavenly Crafters, & Library Crafters Club. As her children grew up, she supported their activities by being a Girl Scout Leader, and helped with 4-H Club. She and Richard were Boosters for Madison Heights Basketball & Band, and were IU Basketball Boosters. In her later years, she participated in the 4-H County Fair where she received various awards for her beautiful cross-stitching. She was a fan of the Colts & NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, creating craft projects, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Marilynn is survived by her children, Cynthia "Cindy" Stone & Alan "Scott" (wife, Julie) Meyer; grandchildren, Amanda Key, Brittany Meyer, Caroline Stone, Claire Stone, Evan Stone, Ansley Painter, Makayla Meyer, & Alexander Meyer; great grandchildren, Zoe Shihemi, Miley Key, Delyla Meyer, Miyana Thompson, Emmalynn Painter & Samuel Painter; brothers, Ronald (wife, Sue) Fuhrman & Roger Fuhrman; brother-in-law, Bob Shoobridge; sister-in-law Carol (Meyer) Lincks, brother-in-law Tom Lincks, special family, Scott Stone; and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Dick Meyer; sister, Martha Jane Shoobridge; brother, Robert Fuhrman; sisters-in-law, Melanie & Nancy Fuhrman; nieces, Kim Shoobridge & Vicki Shoobridge Herring; and nephew, Joseph Fuhrman.
Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 pm on Thursday, December 2nd at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. Services will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 310 E. 53rd Street, Anderson, IN 46013, or to the American Cancer Society.
